Prior Knowledge about Paul of Tarsus

My prior knowledge about Paul begins and ends with reading the Bible. From reading the Bible, I’ve gathered the following information about Paul. Paul was a Roman Citizen, previously named Saul, who persecuted Christians. Saul was blinded by God for three days, which also entailed not eating or drinking anything. After the three days, Saul was transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and renamed Paul, by God. Paul began to follow Jesus and even became one of his 12 disciples. Him and Silas were imprisoned by Caesar for two years but never lost faith. One day, an earth quake began to shake the prison and the walls crumbled down, releasing both Paul and Silas. I believe reading that Paul was beheaded in Rome and died a martyr.

I am looking forward to reading Paul’s letters because of the great significance they hold. I am a kinesthetic learner so reading/ listening isn’t the best way for me to learn, but I’m making it work! I’d like to actively stay on top of discussions and posts! I’m really excited about this course!
